Robert Murray is CEO of Firemint, a developer who believes in GamesIndustry about the need for Sony PSP Go to make it easier for developers to produce games for Playstation Portable Go (PSP Go). Murray believes it is key that the “path between the player and the developer are as short as possible.”
One advantage of the new PSP, the Sony PSP Go, is that the format does not include the physical UMD player and focuses exclusively on downloadable content. Sony expects to continue in the footsteps of companies like Apple with the App Store when it comes to produce content for the platform.
Just as an example, the developer puts the Apple iPhone, ensuring that the company Steve Jobs gives great facilities for companies such as allowing developers to offer upgrades and additional content for your games without limitation or contact directly with consumers to get their opinion.
However, despite the current trend, Murray does not see problems in the competition between Sony and Apple: “All we get Apple to increase the benefit to Sony, the same way that anything that Sony will help Apple.” Firemint studying ways to move their games to the iPhone console Sony.
