While the announcement of the PSP Go in past E3, argued for digital downloads as the primary complaint, many controversies have arisen about the future after receiving the new laptop between consumers and stores. Leaving aside the issue of whether the business of digital downloads is viable or not, what matters is whether the consumer’s ability to take 16GB PSP Go is sufficient to take the memory of a wide range of console titles.

At a recent event held in New York, Al De Leon, Sony, said that most of the downloadable titles for PSP Go Systems will occupy between 600 and 800 MB. With this PSP Go console could store about 18 titles by using the memory that comes standard, but as said Sony could be expanded in another 16 GB, bringing the number of titles could be stored folded.

The management has ensured that these amounts can vary greatly depending on the genre it belongs to the game, so for example Patapon 2 will not even reach 400 but instead to Final Fantasy VII would reach 1.3 GB.

Another possibility, and that Sony has officially confirmed it was the creation of applications designed for PSP Go: “The majority will be games, but also opens the possibility to create a wide variety of PSP Go applications.”

This is due to the reduction in the price of PSP Go development kits that aims to promote the creation of games and applications, not the latter may exceed 100 MB.

Last week we knew the possibility that Sony released applications for the new PSP Go from Playstation Network. Now the Japanese company confirmed that programmers could get these applications since its launch in October if the developers are encouraged to develop.

The reduction in the price of the PSP Go Accessories, which Sony announced at E3, has the sole purpose of turning the console into a software accessible for programmers and that they develop downloadable applications for portable, in addition to games in the classical sense.

Al De Leon said at CNET Sony: “The aim is to allow all developers can work in any type of content to the portable PSP Go. Most games will be, but also opens a large range of applications.” These applications says De Leon will be distributed through the Playstation Network Store formally.

The PSP Go was presented during the last E3. This review includes the console, 16 GB internal memory, UMD player does, and presents a new design that conceals the control panel under the console screen by reducing its size.

Original ideas

The reduction in the price of the PSP go Applications can result in application programming and video games and original alternative for portable Sony. One example is the video game Invizimals, produced in Spain by Novarama, which uses the PSP camera to capture the player virtual creatures in real world. You may wager as it is launched as a term applied in traditional programs and video games distributed through the Playstation Store.

Through the statements issued by the spokesman for Sony in an interview the audience of fans of the PSP Go console became aware of what will be the new strategy of the company.

Sony PSP Go will be lauched in the next autumn. Itwill be a way to review the way to distribute games from Sony, who spoke today to news arriving even as regards the work of the developers of video games for the console .

It will be easier to design and create video games for PSP Go Games because Sony will cut some passages which until now were required before the production of a game. The producers will do everything faster and consequently applying a lower cost to their games.

Additionally, all games will be released for PSP Go, being sold exclusively online, will be available in a new section of the portal PlayStation Store, whose name is not yet been notified. So, probably you have to buy your PSP Go online.

Sony always make surpised at E3 in the past more than one (especially at specialty shops) with your intention to leave the physical format for the new version of its portable. We now know more details.

The new platform will be very similar to other systems known as the PlayStation Store. However, much will be similar to Apple App Store in the variety of available applications. The main objective is to encourage developers to venture to the system it will cancel the prior approval of content and will be cheaper by up to 80% for PSP development kits.

I think it’s great to encourage the development and therefore there has been a drought of quality as far as PSP is concerned. On the other hand, if digital content is driving … are still grounds for a game that cost 40-50 €? They have always maintained that the price is increased by the costs of distribution, export, etc … will have to see what we are.

The other side of the coin are the retailers who have already expressed their dissatisfaction because the sale of physical play is what really gives them a profit margin to consider. A few weeks ago we learned that this group threatened to stop selling the consoles would not exist if physical games.

Is this a revolution in the market? Will sell consoles and games via WEB on these digital platforms? … Moreover, Will this with the second hand market, or even the possibility of a game to a friend? …. This starts to become casualty ….

The truth is that these changes are very strong. I suppose that even an option for the future, these changes will have to settle gradually.

The new model of PSP Go not only accompanied by a complete download system and a flood of new games, but also a portal similar to the Apple AppStore, which users can download games small low pre and developers around the world will have facilities to publish their titles.

The company has confirmed that prepares such a service for PlayStation Network, with a development system easier for game developers. Not only have cheaper development kits for the PSP by 80%, but it will be easier to post titles, short periods of adoption, and ability to sell games a lot cheaper.

The new strategy is the responsibility of the veteran Sony Zeno Colaço, responsible for relations with the developers of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. The PS Store that users of PlayStation 3 and PSP are used to add a new section, separate from the rest, for this type of games.

Colaço has confirmed that there are already more than 50 studies to work for this new application system for the PSP console, both the original and the new PSP Go.

“We are new to PSP introciendo beyond the traditional game, but include elements, and new developers,” said Colaço. “It is still a professional environment, still need a development kit and still need to invest and have a team,” he said. “But it may be a small team. There are no restrictions on the games disk.

The output of the new PSP Go console seems to be having great success even without having lauched yet (the date October 1, 2009) and UMD for now …

Sony already has in mind the store of your console and will be very similar to the familiar Apple App Store that has garnered so much success.

The development will consist of a lot easier now and the cost will be much lower than seen in the UMD discs, which are not cheaper.

PlayStation Store will have almost exclusive software programs or games in addition to exclusive and bought in large establishments, even those who are pulling their hair out.

The future will be digital content which will be bought before going to stores for the convenience of the user who prefers a well in 70% of the surveys.

PSP Go on without change will have a large memory card which will have enough room for games, but not too much has been raised.

While this may be extended by acquiring type memory cards Memory Stick also has a maximum between 16 GB and 32 GB, at least for now.

Its price is also seen in PSP 2000 and PSP 3000 when it went on sale, worth? probably yes or probably no.

The PSP Go has 16 gigabytes of internal flash memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Will be arriving in stores in October for $ 249. I managed to finagle my way into the roped-off part of the Sony booth at E3 for the second day just to get some hands on time with the device.

Sony PSP Go may the worst-kept secret of this year’s E3 show, but Sony press conference now has the official information. In most cases there is little that is not already revealed or correctly assumed: Sony PSP Go is small, has a slide screen, no UMD drive – and no game-changing upgrades, such as a touch screen or second analog — stick. But the big news is that the new PSP will be in North America on 1 October for $ 249th

Here is an overview of the Sony PSP Go functions and properties, as we know them so far.

Form-factor: The PSP-Go has a 3.8-inch screen (compared with 4.3-inch on all current PSP models). It is said that 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000, which means they would Zünglein at the scales at about 3.8 ounces. The PSP-Go design is very interested in the Sony mylo – slides up the screen to complete the checks.

Storage: The Go offers 16 GB of built-in flash memory, and it is expandable via a Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot. There are no UMD (Universal Media Disc) drive on the PSP-Go. While there is no doubt that for the smaller (and, we hope, the potential for better battery life), it also means there is no way to play existing PSP software you can rely on the PSP-Go.

Controls: While the layout may be different, the scheme on the PSP Go is little changed from earlier PSP models: a four-way D-pad on the left side, the standard quartet of geometrically coded Sony controls (circle, square , cross, triangle) on the right side, select / start buttons in the middle, and the PlayStation “Home” button on the left side of the screen.

A second analog control is always at or near the top of the wish-lists designed for PSP, so its absence is a disappointment. At the same time, remain with the same scheme means the game compatibility between the Sony PSP Go and older PSP will be retained. It remains to be seen whether the placement of each stick – closer to the center of the control deck, not as far right side, where it sits on earlier PSP – will be problematic for PSP experienced players. This means that the Go-control layout is closely aligned with that of a traditional full-size PlayStation controller.

Despite early rumors, there is no touch screen on the Sony PSP Go.

Wireless: In addition to Wi-Fi support, the PSP Go adds Bluetooth capability, the Sony handheld platform for the first time. That should be the standard Bluetooth headset (and, presumably, A2DP headphones and speakers) to go with the PSP. In the leaked video, Sony rep John Koller, the ability to power the PSP Go to a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone. The advantage is that it is not marked, but that would potentially allow Internet surfing and online gaming on the connection to a mobile phone with a 3G data connection (if Wi-Fi access was not available). Another possibility (although pure conjecture) is that you could pair a PS3 controller (which is Bluetooth enabled) Go to the PSP.

Games: At Sony’s press conference, the company confirms new PSP versions of many of its most popular franchises. Known titles – many of them will be in 2009 – even Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Jak and Daxten: The Lost Frontier, Motor Storm Arctic Edge, and SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3rd The first Resident Evil game for the PSP is expected to be published next year.

PSP games are available for download directly from the PlayStation Store on the console’s Wi-Fi connection. In addition to the direct download, Sony says that “all” new PSP games will also continue to UMD to. We have to ask how long we last in the light of the fact that the company appears to be comprehensive digital distribution only in titles such as Patapon 2nd However, as the older PSP can also download and play title, the eventual death of UMD should not obsolete.

Digital media: The Go provides the same support for music, video and photo files as previously PSPs, so you should have no trouble transferring gigabytes of media from a PC (or on the M2 Flash Media Card). Downloadable Movies and TV shows you can go directly from the PlayStation Store over Wi-Fi (no more need the PS3 or PC as an intermediary). Despite early rumors of a PSP-centric music store, Sony instead opted for a partnership with eMusic. In other words, users can DRM-free tracks from online music store (Amazon, iTunes, eMusic, etc.) and copy it onto the PSP.

Sony will release software called Media Go to the PSP users to manage the content on the PC (this replaces the older and not very useful, Sony Media Manager software). The company is also a feature called “Sense Me”, the analysis of your music library for playback of music on the basis of a mood you choose.

PS3 integration: Again, it seems, the interoperability between the existing PS3 and the PSP-line will go to the PSP. This includes the ability to cross-load a number of games and media, as well as the remote play option (PS3 access to content from the PSP via the internet).

Price and availability: The PSP-Go in North America on 1 October for $ 249th (The portable console will be on sale in Europe on the same day for 249 Euro, and the availability in Japan a month later.) The PSP-3000, currently $ 169, remain on the market.

Unanswered Questions: We hope to learn more about the PSP-Go in the coming weeks and months. Chief among our questions unanswered: Is the Go-Video support like the PSP-3000? How is the battery life? Is the screen the same strange interlacing issues, some effort on the PSP 3000?

Is it worth waiting? This is of course the big question. The PSP-Go is not the PSP2, to be sure – it’s more like the PSP 1.5. As with the Nintendo DSI, Sony extended (and, it hopes, revitalizing) a portable platform, the ten million units sold worldwide. Given the fact that it is an evolutionary product – the only real appeal is the smaller form factor – the high price is certainly an obstacle to those already existing and enjoy the PSP.

On the other hand, owners of older (and heavier) PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 can go to the upgrade they’ve been waiting for. But with the DSI and the iPhone / iPod Touch at the time – and pockets – from casual gamers, the ultimate answer may again rest with the quality and appropriateness of the games. We can answer the question more definitively, if we are some hands-on time with the PSP Go later this year.
